What is social anxiety?
Before we start off with the topic let me tell you what I feel about social anxiety.
Social anxiety is feeling terribly self-conscious.
Oh is it my teeth? Or scars?
Your nose, jaws, or cheeks.
Well, am I speaking of only physical anxieties?
Well, even if you do not have any physical anxiety then also it is still very much possible to feel awkward about yourself if you are having a social anxiety disorder.
Like, you are in an unknown crowd all enjoying yourself, and all of a sudden you want to run away to somewhere where your nerves can calm down.
A quiet place, a comfort zone.
There are other symptoms too which tell that you might be having a social anxiety disorder.
Like you always need others to make you feel good. Maybe you need assurance and other people’s validation of yourself.
So how do you overcome such anxieties to live a more peaceful and happy life?

How to overcome social anxiety?
1. FOCUS ON PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION
Perspective it is.
Why do we measure our work with so much self-criticism?
We have some mind’s perception of a job’s perfect result. And when we don’t meet our mental measures, we get sad.
Why don’t we start measuring our work on the progress we made.
Start preparing your daily worksheet.
Measure it with Yesterday. Count the progress.
You will see you are becoming more productive just by measuring your progress.
2. SET TIME ASIDE TO WORRY
Well, if you are wasting a lot of time worrying about useless kinds of stuff then set aside 10 minutes a day just to worry about the stuff that bothers you.
Other times, just tell yourself, this is not the time to worry about these things, I will think about it when I have scheduled it.
Well, this is a stupid idea, but the useless stuff that snatches our productivity levels will go away soon.
Worrying is natural when we are concerned about something.
But the term should be altered.
The term is not worrying but ‘Planning’.
If you are thinking about an issue that needs to be solved then make a step-by-step plan on how to accomplish that or solve that.
Worrying can never be a part of us but proper planning is.
3. GOAL SETTING
Focus on yourself.
Lack of confidence and feeling that we have accomplished so less in life is also a reason for all social anxieties.
Use your dreams to be happy.
Set goals and accomplish them with proper planning. It is so much fun to see yourself grow.
Have monthly or quarterly goals and write daily to-do tasks that will lead you to complete those goals.
4. BE FIT
Being fit and eating healthy gives so much confidence and energy that it is a natural catalyzer for personality development.
Hit the gym, do yoga, or eat nutritious all day long.
Yoga is a popular method of stress relief for many people. It has been proven to help relieve stress and anxiety, as well as increase focus and productivity at work.
Do whatever makes you feel good about yourself.
When your body and mind are fit, you will get some extra energy to make time for your goals.
5. WORK ON SELF-EXPLORATION, SELF DISCOVERY, AND LOVE
A very very important step.
Self-exploration is what we need to find our mental peace.
Love and treat yourself the way you would treat anyone else whom you love.
Stop playing the mental negativities about them.
It affects our own minds.
Social anxiety comes when you are not confident about yourself.
Discover yourself, find out what you like, then a point will come when you know what you want.
6. HAVE POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS
Do positive affirmations really help you?
Why do not you try it out? There is nothing to lose.
Every morning tell yourself that you already overcame your fears and be happy about them.
See the change in you in a week.
I have tried to overcome my social anxieties this way by affirming a few positive sentences against any particular issue.
It works and the mind will get happier.
7. START A GRATITUDE JOURNAL
Well, this is another way of building up confidence as I have seen.
Be grateful for the things you already have.
You will become happier and aware of the things you have, which will, in turn, build up confidence in yourself.
My Take on Social Anxiety
Society anxiety is a feeling which you have to overcome all by yourself.
